Owning a vacation home can create complicated family estate and income tax issues. Planning for the transfer of the family cottage requires a series of thoughtful steps. The cottage can be any vacation home and, whether it's a ski chalet or condo, waterfront property or hunting land, all have financial and emotional ties to a family.
Several members of the Southwest Michigan Kotz Sangster team had an excellent time supporting St. Joseph High School’s athletics department during their recent “Birdies Fore Bears” fundraising event. Hosted at Lost Dunes Golf Club in Bridgman, MI, the fundraiser included a scramble-style golf outing, reception, awards and an auction, with all of the proceeds going back to the high school’s athletics program.
As the Platinum Sponsor of the event, Kotz Sangster hosted a Cuban cigar roller, Fernando Morales, who Mitt Drew, Managing Director of Kotz’s Southwest Michigan offices, brought in for the fundraiser. Fernando donated a custom humidor with accessories to raffle, with the proceeds going to St. Joseph Athletics The event raised over $1k for the sports program.
