Profile & Practice Areas

Yousef Farraj specializes in corporate, commercial, and construction litigation in Detroit, across the US, and abroad. He is an experienced commercial attorney routinely involved in international and Detroit area M&A law and corporate disputes. Since joining Kotz Sangster, Yousef has become integral to the firm’s construction litigation practice.

Prior to joining Kotz Sangster, Yousef was a partner at an international business law firm—managing its Detroit office and representing clients from around the country and in the Middle East. Early in his career, Yousef worked with one of the largest American multinational law firms in the world—based in its Abu Dhabi office in the United Arab Emirates—handling a variety of matters including commercial disputes and advising foreign companies on foreign direct investment and legal structuring into the region.

Yousef continues to represent a myriad of clients (as plaintiff and defendant) in high damage and exposure litigation involving corporate and construction matters.

Previously in his career, Yousef committed a portion of his practice to helping small to medium sized businesses and young entrepreneurs with expansion, development, acquisitions, and regulatory compliance. In addition to his work as a litigation and arbitration lawyer in Detroit, he still enjoys counseling and advising small businesses and entrepreneurs in their journey to grow.

Yousef graduated magna cum laude within the top 5% of his class from Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan where he earned numerous academic awards and distinctions through his law school career.
