McBride, Derek G.

Profile & Practice Areas

Derek McBride brings extensive transactional experience to the firm, having represented clients in private practice and as in-house counsel for a multi-national banking and financial services corporation and a U.S. based steel manufacturer with over $4 billion in assets. In the course of that work, he has represented financial institutions in connection with the origination of complex commercial loans, including asset-based loans, construction loans and real estate financing. He also has significant experience in loan modifications and workouts. In addition, Derek has wide-ranging experience in negotiating and drafting complex commercial agreements, ranging from raw material supply agreements to software licensing agreements.

As a member of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, Derek assists clients in all aspects of real estate law. He represents both sellers and purchasers of commercial, industrial and residential real estate, and works with developers in establishing condominium projects for a variety of uses. Derek also assists both landlords and tenants with the establishment and modification of commercial leases, and occasionally the enforcement of the parties’ rights under such agreements.

Derek uses his extensive experience in commercial lending to aid the firm’s Lending and Finance Practice Group in connection with the origination of secured loans and loan workouts on behalf of the firm’s bank clients.
