Attorney

Eyre, Douglas W.

Profile & Practice Areas

Douglas Eyre is a seasoned attorney and brings a breadth of experience to every matter he handles. Recently, Doug joined Kotz Sangster after serving as a partner with Michigan’s preeminent, boutique construction firm. He is excited to continue his construction work while being able to handle more traditional commercial litigation, and offer clients a broader range of services throughout the firm.

After an externship with a federal appellate judge, Doug began his career at one of Michigan’s oldest and most prestigious law firms, specializing in construction, real estate, and commercial litigation. He built a reputation within his firm and among its clients as an attorney who understood his clients’ business goals and defined success by obtaining results that provided value for them. He honed those skills in-house with a national bank and mortgage company, where he instituted legal project management processes that drastically reduced legal spending and improved results over his tenure.

Doug continues to define his success by providing results to his clients that add value to their businesses. He has litigated from coast to coast, having recently been lead counsel on matters in the Southern District of New York, the Chancery Court of Delaware, and Northern District of California as lead counsel.

Doug served as an editor on the ABA’s publication of “The Business Courts Benchbook: Procedures and Best Practices in Business and Commercial Cases.” Additionally, he has been recognized as a Top Lawyer in Construction Law by dBusiness Magazine. Doug has the experience to guide you through any commercial or construction dispute you may have.
